Lands End Bathing Suit Review and Gift Card Giveaway

I'm especially thrilled with the new Lands' End Slendersuit swim suit I was sent for review because on the final day of our recent water park trip I noticed the back of my old bathing suit was threadbare almost, but thankfully not quite, down to my bum.

I was mortified! But rather than question why not one person in my group of 11 pulled me aside and mentioned something, I'll gush about the new suit that covers me in all the right places. Make that covers me and holds me in in all the right places.

The Slendersuit lives up to it's name. It's like a tummy-tuck in a bathing suit. It gently holds my belly in without constricting my innards. A bit of shirred fabric enhances my waistline and as the website promises, the floral "geo daisy" pattern "conceals and flatters." Both DH and I give it a thumbs-up (though he might be sad to see my peek-a-boo look go).

I'm thrilled that this and many other Lands' End swim suits are available in petite sizes. I need a "short torso" suit to get the right fit. They also make plus-sizes (even petite plus) and suits for women who've had mastectomies.

I'm looking forward to sunny days at the pool in my new suit. And based on my experience with this brand, I expect to be wearing it next summer and the summer after, too.

And what about you?

Lands' End and I would love to get you ready for summer with a $100 Lands' End gift card giveaway.

You can pick up a suit that makes you feel fabulous, or cave and spend it on the kids. If you're the kids of person who avoids the sun, maybe housewares are more your thing? Lands' End makes super snoozy pillows and cushy mattress toppers that have earned the Moldofsky seal of approval.

Rules: Leave a comment letting me know how you'll spend the gift card.

Entries from US residents will be accepted through by 8 AM CST on Monday, April 27, 2009. Blog or Tweet this post for an extra entry each (come back and comment to let me know you did so). You can also gain an extra entry by subscribing to my main blog. Winner will be chosen via random.org.

I will DEFINITELY buy a new bathing suit. I am desperate for one!

Thanks for the give away!

I tweeted it as well. :)

I'm sure it's a big randomizer fail to be the first entry, but I also love, love the Lands' End quality and buy most of my kids summer/spring things there. Though I would most definitely use this GC to get a new LE suit--my last tankini is a good 8 years old by now--how embarassing! Will definitely RT for you!

Oooh, am I first? Yeah! I'd probably spend it on my boys. Swim shirts and trunks. T-shirts. They need it all. Thanks for the chance. I'll be back after I tweet.

I have heard nothing but good things about Lands End swimsuits. If I won, I think I would buy a couple fun shirts, or maybe a dress.

Hi! This is an exciting giveaway opportunity for me because over the last two summers, I went back to wearing my two "pre-baby" bikinis out of pure laziness ... and our vacation pictures confirm this was an unwise choice, ha. So, I would jump at the chance to snap up a lovely new suit, and I'm in the short torso camp as well -- another plus. Thanks for the chance!

I LOVE Land's End bathing suits. I treated myself to a new one last year, so if I won, I would probably buy something for my three girls. I am a sucker for matching outfits!

I'd buy the Slendersuit! Natch!

I would definitely buy another one of those suits! I already have one, but I lost 10lbs and it's baggy. Great for me, not so great for my clothes. :-)

Everyone loves their suits. I might have to give them a try, though my son needs a few more shirts for summer. Oh heck, let's be real, I'll totally spend it on myself! LOL!

I've never had a bathing suit from Lands End. I keep hearing how fabulous they are. It's been 5 years since I bought a bathing suit (pre kid years). So I guess I need one.

I have been debating whether or not to get one of their swimsuits. I like that I can mix and match to make it fit top and bottom different sizes. Thanks for the great opportunity.

I really need a new bathing suit, since I'm a smaller size now. And I need a good beach tote to carry all my stuff in, too.

Kim, how would I spend it?? I would buy a Slender Suit! Holds me in and covers me in all the right places? No more tugging the bottom back up over the baby belly and away from the C-section scar? No more wondering if the halter tankini top is letting too much out? I'm sold!

I would sadly spend it on my kids. lands end suits are great for kids (although they're good for moms too but my suits from last year are not all pilled up on the butt!)

I am already a big fan of Land's End bathing suits. I have the opposite problem of petite - I'm tall with a long torso. What I love about the suits are they flatter without being overly revealing. They celebrate all body types and help them look their best, naturally. My butt cheeks don't bulge out, my boobs stay intact and in shape, and my belly always seems to remain compact. And there is nothing that beats the quality of the Land's End bathing suit.

I also give a big thumbs up for Land's End bathing suits for the kids. They have always weathered the wear and tear the kids put them through, whether at the beach or the pool.

Okay, I'm a fan...and I'd take that gift card and put it towards bathing suits for me, the kids, or all!

I just bought one of Lands End's tugless swimsuits for a vacation in Mexico and I LOVE IT!

I am a large-chested, big-butted woman and this is the first swimsuit I've worn that covers the cleavage and the cottage cheese!

What, no "pear" shaped "anxiety zone?" I guess I'll have to stick with the triangle then. :)

I would definitely use this to buy a bathing suit. This will be our second summer in Houston, and I learned last year that pool time is sacred. I need the right swimwear this year, though!

I like the petite option, too. I would be hard-pressed to choose between the Women's Beach Living Ikat Print Adjustable Halter Tunic Swim Top and the Women's TrimLine Separates Surplice Penelope Print Tankini Swim Top. I wish they had normal panty or boy leg bottoms for the tankinis, too. The Swim Minis are cute but I wonder if they would just make me look matronly...

Like the orange color.

My 6-year-old has been asking for polo style dresses that meet her school attire standards and I'd probably get her a dress or two for next year, too!

(Or I could easily spend it all on myself for Mother's Day...mwaa haa haa haa!)

I would buy a swimsuit because mine is from around 1994. I'd also buy some nice walking shorts because the ones from last year don't fit, they must have UH, shrunk.

I so need some decent spring/summer clothing. i would buy a few shorts and shirts and then my husband's birthday is coming up and since I do not have income coming in it would help in purchasing a birthday gift for him.

I've been hunting for a new suit that will be a more flattering fit for our beach vacation this summer. After seeing my pics from last summers vacation I knew I wanted to get just the right suit. I've been looking at the slendersuit but just haven't been able to bring myself to order one for fear that it may not fit or live up to it's claim. I now have someone that recommends it and will definately be ordering one! Thanks.
